Local Advisory Committee representatives
Update March 2021 - Support for the work of Local Advisory Committees
To support the work of the seven newly established Local Advisory Committees (LAC), members have attended their meetings to talk about the Association and its work. At the request of the Marlborough LAC, we found two additional volunteers to talk in more detail about the role of local volunteers.
Ryan Grenfell is DCFO at Havelock VFB and was recommended for this role by Nigel Jackson the local Provincial Branch President. Steve Banks, Controller at Rarangi VFB was recommended by Chris Hayles, Principal Rural Fire Officer, Marlborough Kaikoura Rural Fire District.
Ryan and Steve are experienced volunteers and have a good sense of the needs of other volunteers and their local communities. I am sure this knowledge will be of value to the LAC as they celebrate the work of local brigades and work to address some of the issues they face.
